Tommee Tippee Review
February 15, 2010
I am proud to bring you the first Squeaker Man Review here on “Deal”icious Mom.
Little side note about “Deal”icious Mom: Squeaker Man is our nickname for our 7 month old because when he was born he would squeak when he drank his bottle plus his real name is Ezekiel (Zeke) so it rhymes. Silly, I know, but it stuck.
Squeaker Man had the chance to review the new line of Tommee Tippee bottles and sippy cups and I must admit that both baby and mom were very impressed.
I am in no hurry to see my little man grow up and I was sad to see that with the Tommee Tippee bottle he was (for the first time) able to hold the bottle himself! My heart sunk a little to see him growing up so fast but this bottle definitely impressed me. Squeaker took to it right away. The nipple is incredible soft, ultra wide, and malleable. I could see this bottle being very useful for parents who are both breastfeeding and bottle feeding since this bottle appears to mimic the breast very well. Of course it is BPA- and Phthalate-free. I also like that the ultra-sensitive anti-colic valve lets baby feed at their pace for less air, vacuum build-up and nipple collapse. Since we received this bottle we have all but turned our backs on other bottles.
Squeaker also received 2 sippy cups to put through his rigorous testing process. The faired just as well. I liked the design and easy cleaning of these cups since I am always very worried about mold building up in all the little pieces of most sippy cups. I end up throwing away so many of the sippy’s I have bought in the past because they are so hard to clean. This Tommee Tippee sippy is great because it has nice handles for Squeaker to hold and it does not leak or at least not yet. Overall, I liked this cup and so did Squeaker but he still has some growing before he will be able to use it. I plan on going out and getting him the First Sips cup to use for a while since it seems more his speed!
I was pleasantly surprised when I visited Tommee Tippee’s main website at how many useful product they have in their line. I am interested in so many. They also have a great line of products for transitioning called the Explora line your toddler to a cup. So basically you can use their products from their first bottle all the way up to a insulated drinking cup. They also have pacifiers, tableware, sterilizers and more. For fear of going on forever, I just want to say that I really like this brand and they did not pay me to say that. I am definitely going to Babies”R”us to check out more of their products.
Let me know if you try out some of their products and what you think.
Deal”icious Mom’s Review Disclosure: This is a sponsored post and I was provided with a Tommee Tippee Bottle, 2 nipples, and 2 sippy cups free as part of the Mom Blogger Review Club so I could give a honest and insightful review of my own. The opinions in this post are entirely my own. This post has not been reviewed or edited by anyone. I was not compensated in anyway other way for this review.

Consumer Reports Best Baby Products Book Giveaway (Closed)
November 25, 2009

Everyone has heard that breast is best for baby, but there are times when regardless of best intentions formula is essential. For example, mom doesn’t have enough milk, has multiples, mom is unable to pump at work, etc. For me, breastfeeding was not an option due to medication that I am on due to Epilepsy. As much as I longed to breastfeed my babies I was unable to for both the safety of the baby and myself.
On those occasions, it is important for new moms (like myself) to get the best value for our dollar, while also safe guarding our baby’s health. Believe me I know how expensive formula is and I know how it feels to buy those cans of formula and debate whether store brand is “just as good” as the name brands. Well. according to the 10th edition of Consumer Reports Best Baby Products, store brand formula is as nutritious for babies as nationally advertised brands. There are even coupons available for store brand formulas here if you are interested.
You may be wondering why I am bringing this up? Well, as of October, a new Woman, Infants, and Children’s (WIC) program initiative designed to promote breastfeeding reduces infant-formula subsides by up to 26% so parents who previously had most of their formula paid for by WIC may now have to purchase formula on their own. This is an issue close to my heart both because I had to solely formula feed my children by no choice of my own and because I work in a very low income area of Los Angeles where when woman needs to use the WIC program I would hope they would have every available feeding option available to their babies. Since I know sometimes breastfeeding is not always an option.
Anyways thanks for listening to me ramble on. Now on to my giveaway!

Gerber DHA Puree and 8 Grains & Yogurt Cereal Review Plus Gerber Prize Pack Giveaway (Closed)
October 28, 2009
***The giveaway has ended and the winners have been notified. You can see who won here.***
I am so excited because my second son is quickly approaching a huge milestone. Soon he will be eating his first meal other than formula! How exciting this must be for him – even though he has no idea it is coming or that real food even exists… hmmm o’well, I am excited enough for the both of us and I have been secretly stalking the baby food aisle for months looking at all the new developments in baby food. I am truly amazed at all the new changes that have occurred since my first son was eating baby food only 2 short years ago.
I have to admit “Beefaroni” (my first son) was very partial to Gerber food (and he still is.) He loved his Gerber baby food from his first very messy bite of cereal all the way to his Gerber Graduates meals that I can’t get him to stop eating now. So when I saw 2 new products on the shelves from Gerber I was excited to learn more. These products offer so much and I am so sure “Squeaker” (my 2nd son) will love them. The baby I passed my review products on too absolutely loved them. I watched him gobble both the cereal and the puree up and his mom said he is usually a rather fussy eater. She updated me earlier this week that her son has been consistently eating both of these products with no problem or complaints for 2 weeks now and to quote Little Einsteins, she “can not believe it!”
Check out these product descriptions:
Gerber 8 Grains and Yogurt Cereal adds variety to your baby’s diet while introducing her to the taste of yogurt. It is made with 8 natural grains (Wheat, Barley, Rye, Corn, Sorghum, Rice, Millet, Oat), real yogurt and Live and Active Cultures. 8 Grains and Yogurt has no artificial flavors and is an excellent source of iron for healthy mental development.
Gerber’s DHA & Antioxidant Purees are made with 100% natural fruits and vegetables and come in six varieties, such as Apple Blackberry and Farmer’s Market Vegetable blend to help introduce your baby to new tastes. Gerber Purees with DHA have 18mg of DHA per serving to help support brain and eye development and are an excellent source of either vitamin A (from beta carotene) or vitamin C, protective antioxidants that are essential building blocks of baby’s natural defense system.
After reading those descriptions and talking with my friend, I am eager to let “Squeaker” try these products. These products seem like a healthy option yet still appear a baby’s discerning palate (do baby’s have palates…yes, of course they do!) I feel good about serving my son Gerber and if you agree then you can try to win my giveaway below and win a Gerber prize pack of your very own!
